Virgil Cain
Motorworks Brewing
Saturday - 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

A life-long passion for music has culminated into a tightly woven, professionally produced show by VIRGIL CAIN. A multi-talented musician, Virgil has drawn on over two decades of recording sessions and live performances to meticulously build a multi-layered show that appeals to most any audience.

It all started at the age of 5 with violin lessons in kindergarten. Age 13 came around and he discovered the electric guitar. Listening to guitarists such as Eddie Van Halen, Eric Johnson, Jimmy Page, Virgil found his way to playing guitar in original/cover bands in the 90’s. He began playing piano and keyboard parts on recorded songs too.

After one of the bands disbanded, Virgil played piano and acoustic guitar in local coffeehouses, singing stripped down versions of originals and original renditions of many songs. The solo show developed with influences from Billy Joel, Elton John and Coldplay on piano to Paul Simon, Dave Matthews and John Mayer on guitar.

With a passion for evolving a show, he discovered new technologies. Digital looping and sequencing created a full band sound from one musician. Songs would be built up live with acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards and electric violin parts built on top of each other. It's this "one man band" aspect of his performance that fascinates audiences whenever he plays and accounts for a good portion of what makes his show worth seeing. His stage presence, showmanship, appearance, and an easy ability to connect with an audience makes up another portion. But, it's Virgil’s talent as a musician, above all else, that garners the respect and admiration of an audience and rounds out the full package.

Virgil has performed his solo show for the last 20 years on the east coast in New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Connecticut, Virginia, Ohio, South Carolina, and Florida. This show allows him to focus solely on music to make a living and continues to expand every year. No cover.

Divine AF
Fogartyville
Saturday - 8:00 p.m.

Formed in 2017, Divine AF’s engaging and original blend of indie-folk, rock, pop and World Beat grooves — highlighted by the group’s unique three-vocalist format — has endeared them to a wide array of fans.

A proudly LGBTQ+ all-female outfit, singers Kat Star Song, Suzie Hopes and Brittany Baldwin, guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Lova Michelle Patterson, bassist Seanna Makepeace, drummer Claire Franklin and newcomer Jules Rayne on lead guitar/mandolin, manage to move easily between playing massive LGBTQ+ events like St. Pete Pride — the biggest Pride event in the Southeast, where they shared the stage with Lisa Loeb — to mainstream stages, such as their recent gig supporting hip-hop star Waka Flocka Flame.

The group introduced itself with the 2018 album This Side of Desire, supporting the release with touring and festival appearances that took the band from NYC’s Bowery Electric to Minnesota’s Wookiefoot Shangri-La Festival.

“Beautifully Broken” expands on the promise of “This Side of Desire.”

From the anthemic, guitar-driven defiance of “Flo + Debb” to the evocative introspection of “Kintsugi,” the country-flavored yearning of “Running to Stand Still” and the haunting melodies and harmonies of “Woman on a Wire,” “Beautifully Broken” showcases a group of artists unafraid to work together toward a singular vision without sacrificing the influences, talents and contributions of each individual.

“ really displays some of the range this band is capable of,” says bassist Seanna Makepeace. “It makes a statement that we can be any genre that tickles our fancy, that we don’t have to choose one, and we’re still ourselves.”

Simply Greek Food Truck will be serving food beginning at 7 p.m.

Divine AF | Saturday, March 30, 8 p.m. | Doors open at 7 p.m.

Tickets: $15 members; $18 not-yet-members; $9 student (13+)
