Lakewood Ranch, Florida - James A. Edwards, age 96, of Lakewood Ranch, FL passed away on April 15. Jim was born in Meadville, PA on June 30, 1927 to Frank Edwards and Dorothy Pardo. Jim attended public schools in Meadville and received his BA from Allegheny College in 1950. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Navy.
In his working life, Jim spent 37 years with the same company, Universal Fasteners, Inc in Lawrenceburg, KY, where he retired as the VP of Finance and Treasury. Upon retirement in 1987, Jim moved to Bradenton, FL where he took up sailing and picked up his trumpet again after many years. He played professionally locally from 1991-2003.
Jim was predeceased by his wife, Glenda L. Edwards, his brother, Dick Edwards, his daughter, Martha Edwards and his son, Douglas Edwards.
A private family service will be held in Farmington, Maine in July.
